For Gimme A Break's third original release we are very excited to present Thomas Dalzell's debut EP 'Fractals'. Drawing from a broad range of musical influences, this multi-genre work merges trans-Atlantic soundscapes infusing soulful vocal samples with dubbed out synths and Thomas' distinctive analog drum racks. When citing his musical influences, Thomas singles out the 1996 Slam album Headstates and its fusion of Electro, House, Dub and Trip Hop. This genre-defying production style is best demonstrated in Thomas' "Fade 3" a hard hitting track reminiscent of 90s Electro. However, there's something for everyone in 'Fractals' with "Pontic", "Firebird" and "Ambience" referencing Thomas' UKG and Techno influences whilst "General Dub" draws on the producers' musical background as a multi-instrumentalist. GAB would like to say an enormous thank you to Ian Munro for visually recreating Thomas' interest in Japanese calligraphy and graffiti in this striking design.
